“We are stars wrapped in skin. The light you are seeking has always been within.” - Rumi

A beautiful group gathered under the stars to flow freely through a yoga practice that paid homage to the decadency and slower pace of life in Spain. In “the land of the setting sun,” people lean into life. Sipping their wine a little slower to pick up on every note. Sinking into their sillas with a belly full of tapas. Gazing around the table at loved ones with a content heart. And this is just what happened…

We made space to indulge in a practice that drew upon life’s sweet, simple moments. We sipped in each breath like a refreshing glass of sangria. And, we flowed through sun salutations as if we were leisurely strolling through the plaza gazing around at orange and olive trees. The opportunity to root down, inevitably allows us to rise up stronger and more vibrant than before (if that was even possible with these beautiful babes). And, just like that, the group sunk right into savasana like a midday siesta.

Our playlist included Spanish serenades coupled with Spanish poetry that allowed us to further immerse ourselves in the beauty of this rich culture. And our practice yogi senorita Sarah Mayhew evoked a sense of ease and connection in a world that seems to only crave effort and competition.

Then, we strolled slowly, gently, and leisurely From Mat to Table. And, in typical Spanish fashion, the night was just getting started!

We heated things up with a Spanish toast of herbal tea grown just a few feet from where we unrolled our yoga mats at Heron’s Meadow Farm. And when we gathered around the gallery table, we fostered a sense of community and nibbled on local figs dazzled with creamy goat cheese, drizzled with local honey, and garnished with pine nuts. We then cleansed our palates with oranges and plump pomegranate seeds. We toasted again, and again, and paid tribute to Valencia with large dutch ovens of traditional paella interlaced with saffron threads. And for those that left room, we ended the night with tres leche cake! Nuestros corazones ven tus corazones. Nuestras luces ven tus luces. Namaste gente hermosa.
